Recap – Terms of Use

Welcome to Recap! We’re excited to help you turn your moments into lasting memories. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding contract between you and Recap (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By downloading, accessing, or using the Recap mobile application (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Acceptance of Terms By creating a Recap account or using our Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
2. Description of Service Recap is a social storytelling application that allows users to create, share, and discover collaborative digital albums called “Recaps.” It is designed to be a space for authentic connection and the preservation of shared memories.
3. User Accounts and Verification
● Account Creation: To use Recap, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information and to keep this information up-to-date.
● Age Requirement: You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or a higher age if required by the laws in your country).
● Face Verification: To ensure the safety and authenticity of our community and to prevent bots and fake profiles, we require all users to complete a one-time face verification process during registration. This process is a core part of our commitment to building a trusted environment. How we handle this sensitive data is detailed in our Privacy Policy. You agree to this verification process as a condition of using the Service.
4. User Content
● Your Content is Yours: You retain all ownership rights to the photos, videos, text, comments, and other materials you post on the Service (“User Content”).
● License to Us: By posting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, store, display, reproduce, modify (e.g., for formatting purposes), and distribute your User Content on and through the Service. This license is solely for the purpose of operating, developing, providing, and improving Recap.
● Your Responsibility: You are solely responsible for your User Content. You represent and warrant that you own your User Content or have all necessary rights to post it and to grant us the license described above.
5. Collaborative Content (“Recaps”) A key feature of Recap is the ability to create collaborative Recaps. When you contribute your User Content to a collaborative Recap, you understand and agree that:
● Other members of that collaborative Recap will be able to view, comment on, and interact with your contribution within that specific Recap.
● The creator of the Recap has certain administrative controls over the Recap.
6. Prohibited Conduct You agree not to do any of the following:
● Post any content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, threatening, or pornographic.
● Impersonate any person or entity or post content on behalf of someone without their permission.
● Use the Service for any commercial solicitation or spam.
● Violate any intellectual property rights, including copyright and trademark.
● Attempt to compromise the security of the Service, including introducing viruses or trying to access accounts that are not your own.
We reserve the right to remove any content or terminate any account that violates these rules.
7. Our Intellectual Property The Recap application, including its logos, design, text, graphics, and code, are the exclusive property of Recap and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not use our intellectual property without our prior written consent.
8. Termination You can delete your account at any time through the app’s settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease, and we may delete your account and User Content in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability The Service is provided “as is” without any warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will always be safe, secure, or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Recap shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.
10. Changes to These Terms We may modify these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by other means to provide you with an opportunity to review the changes before they become effective. Your continued use of the Service after the changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
11. Governing Law These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Your Country/State, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
